Chelsea Handler's 'Awesome' Before-And-After Photos: Behold, the Power of Lasers

October 06, 2016 12:24 PM

Chelsea Handler is sharing the beauty secret that’s worked wonders for her. The comedian and talk show showed off the results of her recent treatment to her nearly 3 million Instagram followers on Wednesday, and her results were quite remarkable.

“Before and after.#profractional laser,” Handler, 41, captioned a side by side comparison photo of her pre-treatment and post-treatment outcomes. “Its f—ing awesome and no one is paying me to tell you about it. Bam!”

In the left side photo, Handler’s face appears to be red with dark spots, most likely right after a treatment. And in the after photo, the star’s complexion is noticeably smoother, even toned and wrinkle-free with zero scabbing.

ProFractional lasers “create smoother, clearer skin that is resurfaced from the inside out, and stimulate the growth of new collagen,” according to InStyle. The treatment – most commonly used to treat scars, wrinkles, acne scars and sun damage – improves skin tone, smoothes out fine lines, and evens out skin discoloration by treating tiny sections of the skin at a time.

Based on 87 reviews from across the country, the average price for one treatment is $1,125.

The FDA Just Approved a Non-Surgical, Completely Painless, 20-Minute Face Lift

by Chloe Metzger Mar 14, 2018

What if I were to tell you that you could tighten your skin, soften your fine lines, and give your face the overall appearance of a dewy 22-year-old who's spent her life living in a bubble? Oh, and it would only take 20 minutes? And oh, there would be virtually zero side effects or downtime?

You’d probably call me a liar or a witch, and honestly, both would seem correct, because this technology shouldn’t exist. And yet, thanks to the modern world and the FDA, it does now in the form of a little device called TempSure Envi.

TempSure is a heating device that emit radio frequency waves (don’t worry; they’re safe) deep into your dermis to stimulate collagen production. “It tricks your body into thinking it’s been injured, so your body will send growth factors to the area to build new collagen,” says dermatologist Arash Akhavan, M.D., founder of Dermatology and Laser Group in New York City. “That leads to firmer, tighter, less-wrinkled skin.”
